Spurs, Chelsea, and Arsenal in a three-way fight for Chiesa
Tottenham Hotspur have been vying for a move for highly-rated Juventus forward Federico Chiesa this summer as the North Londoners continue their pursuit of compounding on the offensive options this off-season.
Federico Chiesa has been one of the most highly touted wingers in world football – with Rio Ferdinand even claiming he can ‘unnerve defenders with pace’; however, he has been told to find other suitors by Juventus new boss Thiago Motta. The Italian international has been training alone in Turin at the moment, looking for a potential move away from Italy.
Chiesa recently appeared in the recently concluded European Championships for Italy, and he has been one of the acclaimed gems out of Italian football off late.
However, he has had his fair share of injury concerns that have kept him on the sidelines and have proved to be a hurdle in his progress. Despite his injury concerns, Spurs are willing to bring the former Fiorentina winger to White Hart Lane this summer.
Chiesa chaos
As Tottenham explore possibilities to exploit Chiesa’s current situation with the Turin-based club to negotiate a bargain transfer, other London clubs have been lurking. The Lilywhites’ London neighbours, Chelsea and Arsenal, are also said to be interested in landing the 26-year-old this summer, per Tutto Juve.
Thiago Motta’s side has been waiting for the right offer as they look to conclude his sale in the ongoing summer transfer window.
It is reported that Chelsea and Spurs have already compounded their interest in initial discussions, while the Gunners have joined the party a bit late as they have ‘recently made a new survey for Chiesa’.
Chiesa already has an offer on the table to join Italian side AS Roma; however, he wants to move to the Premier League.
For Tottenham, having Arsenal interested in Chiesa makes it difficult for Spurs to land the Italian, especially if Mikel Arteta’s side goes on to make half a decent offer.
Daniel Levy & Co. will have to move fast if they are to conclude any possible transfer for the 26-year-old this summer.
