Tottenham now postpone sale of €18m star after failure to reach agreement in latest round of talks

Milan steps up pursuit of Emerson Royal

Tottenham Hotspur defender Emerson Royal continues to be linked with a White Hart Lane exit as Serie A giants AC Milan fortify their interest in landing the 26-year-old this summer.

The Brazilian defender has been a surplus at Spurs as he was demoted down the pecking order in his natural right-back role, with Pedro Porro taking his position on Ange Postecoglou’s side. While he has been linked with a move away from the North Londoners for quite a while, no deal has materialized yet.

The player has his heart set on a move to AC Milan, although the Milan Reds are playing a hardball marathon in a bid to land the player for a cut price.

Is this the end of the Emerson Royal saga?

Spurs await improved offer for Emerson

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to indicate that talks between both clubs have resumed and are scheduled for Monday, with the Italian giants hoping to conclude a transfer soon.

Fellow Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio also indicated that Milan have improved their offer with an estimated fee of £11.8m–£12.6m, plus bonuses to land Royal.

Ben Jacobs now understands that Tottenham are awaiting a new bid from their Italian counterparts, and there is no agreement between the clubs at the moment. More talks will take place throughout the week.

This is a saga that has stretched beyond its limit, and many Spurs faithful would just want to hear the end of it, but both clubs will have to find common terms for that to happen, which is not the case as of now.
