Bergvall’s arrival excites fans and Kulusevski

Tottenham Hotspur have an influx of high-potential players at Ange Postecoglou’s disposal going into next season, and Spurs ace Dejan Kulusevski believes that Spurs have a talent who can go to the very top in Lucas Bergvall. He insists that the midfielder is now in the right environment to make it to the top of the game.

As many would have predicted when the North Londoners signed Lucas Bregvall, the former Juventus star has taken the teenager under his wing, with the duo seeming almost inseparable in Spurs’ recent pre-season tour to South Korea and Japan.

The silky winger admitted that having a compatriot feels great and the fact that both of them have been able to connect well.

When Kulusevski was quizzed about having another Swede at White Hart Lane, he said: (via. Football.London)

“Honestly, it feels amazing. It’s just nice for me, you know, just to speak Swedish, to have a brother that did everything that I did when I was young because he’s from the same club.

“We had the same friends, same coaches when we were young, so you know, it’s cool and life is crazy, you know, you never thought a couple of years ago, but now we’re here together, and competing to win together. He’s a really good player, really good guy, and I’m happy that the club brought him in.”

When asked if he has become very much like an elder brother to Bergvall, Kulusevski responded with a laugh:

“I don’t know. You’ll have to ask him. I just know that I’m here for him, whatever he asks, but he’s very intelligent, he has amazing principles in life and that will take him far.”

And then came the all-important question that the Lilywhites faithful would want to know about the quality of Lucas Bergvall. Kulusevski explained how his fellow countryman’s talent is quite visible and how the teenager has shown determination to learn and adapt to the new environment, especially given the fact that this is a level up in quality.

He also suggested how Tottenham supporters need to give him time before judging him too soon.

Kulusevski continued:

“He’s very good, obviously, like, everybody’s seen him. Then, of course, I haven’t seen him at this level and everything, like, we have to give him time; we have to give him time for a lot of new challenges, but what’s important is that the talent is there and the work rate.

“He’s a good guy, so we, the coaches and the players have to be here for him to help him in any way, if he needs it – maybe he doesn’t need it, and he can go straight to the top from the beginning.”

While the excitement is understandable, it is important for Tottenham supporters to remember that Bergvall, and Archie Gray in that case as well, are young, and they will be stepping up in the best league in the world. It takes time to adapt, adjust, and learn.

Ange Postecoglou might want to ease him into the proceedings at N17.

So you think Lucas Bregvall will go on to become a Tottenham Hotspur legend?
