Tottenham Hotspur keen on AS Roma striker Tammy Abraham
According to a report from CaughtOffside, Tottenham Hotspur are among several Premier League clubs interested in signing AS Roma striker Tammy Abraham.
Tammy Abraham left Chelsea to join AS Roma in the summer of 2021 and was an immediate hit in Serie A. He notched 17 goals in 37 Serie A appearances in his debut season for AS Roma. However, things have gone downhill in the past 18 months. Once hailed ‘amazing’ by Jose Mourinho, injuries have played a cruel role in his career.
The England international has struggled for form and consistency, having missed most of the 2023/24 season after suffering a serious cruciate ligament injury. The 26-year-old managed only 12 appearances across all competitions, appearing mostly off the bench as Roma finished sixth in Serie A and qualified for the Europa League.
Apart from Tottenham Hotspur, Everton, West Ham United and Aston Villa are all keen on Abraham, who is keen on a return to the Premier League after three years in Italy. The aforementioned report claims Roma have set a price tag of €27-30m for the English striker.
Spurs have made some smart signings in this summer transfer window but they are yet to fill the Harry Kane-shaped void in the offensive department. With Son Heung-min and Richarlison as the only recognised strikers in the squad, Ange Postecoglou would want to address this issue before the new season commences.
Abraham has emerged as a target for the north London outfit, with Roma open to offloading him in order to improve their poor financial condition. The 26-year-old striker is a Premier League-proven commodity and very knows where the back of the net is. The ex-Chelsea star is exactly the kind of centre-forward Postecoglou wants as he can hold the ball up, link play and bring his teammates into the game.
However, the only red flag that appears with Abraham is his recent injury record. A cruciate ligament injury has seen him miss 40 games for Roma. Barring the major injury, his overall record has been quite decent. When fit, the Camberwell-born star has supplied the goods for the Rome-based outfit and proven his value.

Valued at €27-30m, Spurs must take a gamble on Abraham. There are just a few top strikers available in the market but the Lilywhites are not in a position to spend a premium to lure them to north London. Keeping that in mind, we must go for Abraham as he offers a balanced combination of affordability, quality and reliability, whilst strengthening the depth of the striker department.
