Richarlison not agitating to leave Tottenham amid interest from Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli
According to Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge, Richarlison is not desperate to leave Tottenham Hotspur amidst interest from Saudi Arabia.
Spurs splashed £60million when they signed Richarlison from Premier League rivals Everton two years ago. After a forgettable first season in north London, the Brazilian forward enjoyed a solid if not spectacular 2023/24 campaign under Ange Postecoglou, regardless of injury concerns, netting 11 goals and four assists in 28 Premier League appearances.
While Richarlison has become a key member of Ange Postecoglou’s squad, speculation has not stopped linking him with a move to Saudi Arabia. GIVEMESPORT claims Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli have been keeping tabs on him and his compatriot Gabriel Jesus, of Arsenal, ahead of a potential move.
Sky Sports journalist Michael Bridge has shed light on this subject, claiming that Richarlison isn’t pushing to leave the club and if Tottenham were planning to let him go they would want close to the £60m they paid Everton in 2022.
“There is interest from Saudi Arabia, but I don’t think he is pushing for a move, I think he did okay under Postecoglou last season,” Bridge told GIVEMESPORT.
“Injuries played a part in it being stop-start, but he went on a fantastic run over the Christmas period.
“I think it would have to take a decent bid for Spurs to consider selling Richarlison because it’s a long season ahead in the Europa League and Postecoglou has been happy with him, but that might be one to wait and see if a club comes in for him.
“The only interest has been from Saudi Arabia at the moment. I don’t think Tottenham would want to sell him for less than what they bought him for from Everton.”
Richarlison’s relentless pressing and aggressive style of play has made him a good fit in Ange Postecoglou’s system, as evidenced by his improvement in goal output this past season. This saw the versatile forward score nine goals in eight Premier League appearances—his best spell in a Tottenham shirt—winning the Premier League’s Player of the Month award in January as a result.
The Brazil international, who pockets £90,000-per-week, was on fire, scoring goals left, right and centre for Spurs before he sustained an untimely knee injury in March. This sucked up all the momentum and it directly affected the Lilywhites’ form in the Premier League, although they did enough to clinch the fifth spot in the Premier League and qualify for the Europa League group stages.

Content with Richarlison’s displays, Postecoglou will expect the Brazil international to kick on next season and score goals more consistently along with skipper Son Heung-min. Spurs not bringing in any attacker thus far means the South American is expected to feature heavily and play a pivotal role in the Greek-Australian tactician’s plans again.
Having said that, however, with only two weeks left for the new Premier League season to begin, Daniel Levy and Co. must aim to bring in a new striker as we cannot fully rely on Richarlison, Son and Timo Werner for goals.
