Tottenham free-agent midfielder target wants to join Manchester United

Tottenham focus midfielder search elsewhere after Rabiot setback

Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with multiple midfielders from around Europe as Ange Postecoglou looks to strengthen his midfield in the ongoing summer transfer window, and former Juventus ace Adrien Rabiot has been on the transfer list at White Hart Lane.

The French midfielder is currently a free agent following the expiry of his contract with the Serie A giants earlier this summer, and his future at the moment is uncertain with multiple clubs from Europe, and England in particular, being interested in his signatures.

Rabiot was recently seen playing in the European Championships in Germany with France as he helped les Blues to the semi-finals, losing out to eventual winners Spain.

Tottenham face setback in Rabiot pursuit

Tottenham are reported to be one of the clubs looking to sign the former Paris-Saint-Germain maestro this summer (h/t TuttoJuve).

The links to North London were complemented by transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, who suggested that the 29-year-old has been ‘dreaming’ about a move to the Premier League this summer.

And building on Romano’s claims, Tuttosport (via. The Standard) suggests that the player prioritises a move to Old Trafford this summer after the Manchester Reds expressed interest in the 29-year-old’s signature.

The report also suggests that the Frenchman has been persuaded by multiple top European elites, including Liverpool. However, he is said to have set his heart on a possible United move.

Tottenham have already lost Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and are on the verge of losing Giovani Lo Celso this summer. Expectedly, they would want to bring in a new midfielder before going into next season, but I don’t think Ange will push for a player who has his heart set on playing somewhere else.
