The next Tottenham No. ?? : The jersey numbers Dominic Solanke could don at the N17

Tottenham Hotspur have been amplifying links with a move for England international Dominic Solanke, and the Lilywhites have officially secured his services from Bournemouth in a deal expected to be worth around £65 million.

The striker has signed a six-year deal at White Hart Lane, as the North Londoners announced his official arrival earlier today.

The 26-year-old has been scoring goals consistently in the English top flight since last season, scoring 19 goals for the Cherries, which is his highest contribution in a season in the English top tier yet.

Ange Postecoglou has been looking for a potential replacement for Harry Kane for a while now, and in Solanke, he has a player who can replicate his output at Tottenham.

While Dominic Solanke arrives in North London, the traditional number nine has already been preoccupied by Richarlison, so which number does the former Liverpool striker take?

We will look at the potential numbers available at his disposal below:

#11

11 is a number that is associated with attackers, and while it is generally attributed to creative outlets, Solanke can pick it up, leading the line at White Hart Lane.

Bryan Gil and Eric Lamela have been the predecessors to number 11, and neither of them have enjoyed success wearing the Spurs badge, although Tottenham supporters would be hoping Solanke’s performance is beyond what his predecessors to number 11 achieved.

#19

19 is a number that we usually see strikers take when the original nine are already occupied. Nineteen could very much be the number that Dominic Solanke could take up, considering that 11 doesn’t suit his position.

Fourteen players have donned the number before, with the latest of them being Moussa Dembele and Ryan Sessegnon.

We can see Solanke take up the number for the upcoming season. Solanke with a nineteen has a sound to it as well.

#9

Nine. While Richarlison has occupied the number right now, he
