There is an air of progress surrounding White Hart Lane as the North Londoners look to build on their last season. While Spurs have made some exciting signings, surplus players have to be shown the door to balance books and make space for arrivals in the Tottenham Hotspur away dressing room.
Midfielder Giovani Lo Celso is one of the players subject to links with a move away from White Hart Lane this summer transfer window.
Lo Celso’s Tottenham chapter nearing end
The Argentine maestro signed for the Lilywhites with mighty hopes; however, he has struggled to make his mark at N17. Many expected Gio to revamp his Tottenham career after Ange Postecoglou took charge of the club last summer; however, that hasn’t been the case as minutes were tough to come his way in the last season, and that has prompted links with a potential exit this summer window.
And with only one year left on his contract at N17, the club is likely to call the curtains on his five-year spell at Tottenham. Once recommended by Lionel Messi to Barcelona, the Argentinian hasn’t lived up to the heights that he can.
There have been intensive links with a potential return to La Liga giants Real Betis, who appeared extremely keen on securing his signatures earlier this summer. (h/t Estadio Deportivo)
However, links with a move to the Spanish side have settled silent, and there have been possibilities of the Argentine’s reunion with Unai Emery at Aston Villa.
Lo Celso exit looms large
The Telegraph reporter Mike McGrath insists that multiple Premier League sides have been keeping an eye on the former PSG midfielder. He acknowledges that the 28-year-old’s situation is interesting, with multiple clubs interested in acquiring his services.
Speaking on the latest episode of Last Word on Spurs, the journalist said:
“Lo Celso is really interesting. Clubs are looking at him; clubs are looking at midfielders, and he is one of them where intermediaries are asking if clubs are interested in him. That’s one I could see happening as an out for Spurs if it’s not part of the Ramsey deal. Maybe it’s one for another club in England. English clubs have looked at him.”

Ideally, a move back to Spain could work out for the player, as he has not been able to find his feet in the English top tier. However, there are no aggressive links suggesting his exit right away; it is possible that this could be one of the deals that can drag into the final days of the ongoing window.
