Tottenham set to lose out to Premier League rivals in pursuit of €2.04m star with 25 goals last season

As the transfer window heats up ahead of its conclusion later this month, Tottenham amp up their pursuit of senior reinforcements for their first team.

Despite having landed Dominic Solanke in a record deal, the Lilywhites are looking for at least one more forward.

Recent reports had been linking them with a name from the Primeira Liga, though a rival Premier League side have swooped in to crash their plans.

Bournemouth swoop in for Evanilson amid Tottenham and West Ham interest

As reported by GiveMeSport, Tottenham were looking to acquire Porto centre-forward Evanilson, facing competition from West Ham for his signature, but Bournemouth entered out of nowhere to seal the deal, replacing Dominic Solanke, who was taken off them by Spurs recently.

The 24-year-old Brazil international has been in demand this time round owing to his 25-goal season from last term.

Valued by Transfermarkt at €35 million, Evanilson’s €2.04m-per-year contract with Porto was set to run until June 2027.

Evanilson arrived at Porto from Brazilian side Tombense four summers ago and, during his time with the Dragões, made 154 appearances, delivering 60 goals and 21 assists, also managing to break into the senior Brazil national setup in that time.

Good on Bournemouth

It’s hard to make a case for whether either Spurs or West Ham needed another forward as much as Bournemouth did, having recently lost Solanke.

Spurs are left ruing their chances here, but no major damage has been

done. Bournemouth, after all, have only filled a crater created by the Lilywhites in the first place.

Onto the next target.
