Romano reveals €81k-a-week Tottenham star has two familiar potential destinations

Tottenham Hotspur came into the summer window with a rebuild mentality as Daniel Levy wanted to ensure that all the surplus players at Ange Postecoglou’s disposal were shown the doors at White Hart Lane.

The Lilywhites enjoyed a good summer window as subject to the incomings; however, the club has to catch up with their objectives in the outings subject. One of the players linked with a possible Spurs exit is Giovani Lo Celso.

Tottenham hopeful for bidding war as Lo Celso interest grows

Lo Celso faces tough choice between Emery and La Liga return

Aston Villa has been cited as a possible destination for Lo Celso as Unai Emery looks to reunite with the Argentine maestro. The former Arsenal manager highly rated the 28-year-old after linking up with him at Villarreal and Paris Saint-Germain.

And while Daniel Levy looks to get his name off the wage books at Hotspur Way, a move to Aston Villa beacons. However, things are not as easy for the Villans as they would be facing competition from Lo Celso’s former club, Real Betis.

Betis appear keen on bringing the Argentine back to La Liga as they target the 28-year-old as a possible replacement for Saudi-bound Nabil Fekir.

It is clear that Lo Celso is not part of plans at White Hart Lane, and Ange Postecoglou has already invested in young prodigies, Archie Gray and Lucas Bregvall, who can not only replicate Lo Celso’s output but possibly better it in the long term.

Romano speaks on Lo Celso

While the €81k-a-week player awaits his anticipated exit, he will have familiar feelings if he lands at either of the aforementioned clubs. He will have Emery always getting his back at The Villa Park if he ends up at the Premier League side, or he will be back among the lanes of Villamarn. This is exactly what transfer guru Fabrizio Romano thinks as well (via. GMS):

“For Lo Celso, there are two possibilities: Aston Villa and Real Betis. He rejected some options out of Europe as an opportunity in recent days, and so let’s see what’s going to happen.”

For Tottenham, they would love for an auction-like situation to happen.

We should be heading towards the final conversations about a Lo Celso exit soon.
