Three talking points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur vs Leicester City | Premier League 2024/25

Tottenham Hotspur are set to face Leicester City in their opening game of the upcoming Premier League season, and Ange Postecoglou will be looking to build on his success in the past season this time around.

The Australian gaffer launched Spurs as a wild attacking team at the commencement of the Premier League season in the last campaign, and he would be looking for something similar this time around as well.

As Spurs prepare for the start of the season, there are multiple things that the supporters will be excited about and talking about going into the game against Leicester City.

There are ample talking points; however, it comes down to a few things that should get the fans prattling. Let’s get down to a few of those:

1. Dominic Solanke’s big debut vs Leicester City

The big debut.

North Londoners found their marquee striker in the lanes of Bournemouth as they concluded on a £65m transfer to bring the ex-Liverpool ace to White Hart Lane. He has been tipped to have a massive season under Ange Postecoglou, and the Spurs faithful will have their first opportunity to watch Solanke donning the Lilywhites jersey.

He has been tipped to replace Harry Kane’s presence at the club, and Spurs supporters would be hoping to watch a bit of a Kane-like performance from Solanke on the first matchday of the brand-new Premier League season.

2. James Madison returns to King Power

James Maddison will return to Leicester City for the first time since his exit

Tottenham Hotspur signed James Maddison from Leicester City in a £40 million transfer last summer. While he has now settled into life in North London, it will be an emotional day for the 27-year-old as he returns to King Power Stadium for the first time since he moved clubs.

He played just under 15,000 minutes wearing the Foxes shirt and amassed over 50 goals for Leicester City.

It would be a day for Madison to remember as the whole stadium, home and away, claps and signs for him when he takes the field at King Power.

3. Will Archie Gray get his opportunity early in the season?

Tottenham signed Archie Gray from Leeds United earlier this summer. The North Londoners signed the teenager from under Brentford’s noses, and he is one of the most exciting prospects in England at the moment.

The 18-year-old enjoyed some brilliant success at Elland Road last year, and Ange Postecoglou has an opportunity to start the highly-rated starlet in the first game of the season following Bissouma’s suspension.

If Archie Gray were to start, it would be another exciting spot for the Spurs fans, as he is a player who can become an integral part of the club for the next decade and more.
