Daniel Levy is known for his shrewd approach to business and development at White Hart Lane, and the chairman at N17 has done it once again as the club is set to earn another hefty pay cheque as Spurs are set to earn on the sell-on clause that the 62-year-old included a couple of years ago.
The club is set to earn a sell-on clause on the transfer of Jack Clarke, who has been linked with a move away from Sunderland.
Spurs set for windfall as Clarke nears Wolves move
Premier League side Wolves have expressed interest in signing Jack Clarke following his impressive display in the England second-tier last season.
The 23-year-old has been highly anticipated to move to the Premier League in the ongoing summer transfer window, with the likes of Wolves and Crystal Palace vying for his signatures as the latter looms to replace Olise’s services following his move to Bayern Munich.
While his links to Wolves come under the radar, The Telegraph writer Mike McGrath insists that Championship side Leeds United also remain keen on his signatures with Spurs, saying he holds a 25 percent sell-on clause in his contract.
Tottenham would get a boost in their budget if either of the clubs were to push ahead with a £30 million signing from Sunderland.
Levy’s masterstroke
Levy is looking to invest in the current squad this summer as he looks to leave no stone unturned and adhere to Ange Postecoglou’s squad demands going into the brand-new season. And any cash boost could help the club in their pursuit of new faces at Hotspur Way.
Clarke has a magnificent record of 15 goals, complemented by four assists in 40 appearances for the Black Cats in the previous campaign. He was picked as the Player of the Season in April for his performances for Sunderland.

Despite his efforts, Sunderland had an under-par season, and Wolves as well as Leeds are looking to hand him a getaway from his current employers.
Daniel Farke’s side are operating on a tight budget, and it’s difficult to see them spend such a hefty sum on the player tagged as ‘unplayable’ by former Arsenal player Adrian Clarke.
Clarke’s agent, Ian Harte, admitted for aims to move on this summer earlier this year.
He said: ‘Hopefully this summer we’ll probably see Jack moving’.
