Tottenham’s Soonsup-Bell closes in on Cordoba move
Tottenham Hotspur star Jude Soonsup-Bell was going to be allowed to leave the club this summer amid a lack of chances in north London, more so after Dominic Solanke was signed to take up the vacant striker’s role in the first team.
Fabrizio Romano has reported that the 20-year-old is on the verge of joining Spanish minnows Cordoba in a permanent deal, which would see his short stint with the Lilywhites come to an end.
Soonsup-Bell, who was described as a ‘fantastic’ player was among the more promising Tottenham youngsters last season. He scored 12 goals and provided eight assists in all competitions in 2023/24 but has failed to nail down a berth in the first team.
With Cordoba, the former Chelsea U18 starlet will be able to play regular senior team minutes and a number of English sides will be sure to keep an eye on his progress with plans to potentially grant him a route back to the Premier League or the Championship.
The financial details of the U21 international’s transfer to Andalusia are yet to be determined but given that his valuation on Transfermarkt stands at just €250,000, Spurs are unlikely to be majorly bolstered by Soonsup-Bell’s departure.
Tottenham could benefit by adding a sell-on clause or a buyback clause in the player’s contract with Cordoba as he did show glimpses of his quality with their reserve team.
Spurs’ senior team has enough squad depth for the moment with Timo Werner signed on yet another loan deal as an able understudy for another new arrival, Solanke. While neither player found the back of the net against Leicester City last weekend, they had fairly decent appearances against the Foxes.

It will be exciting to see how they deliver over the course of the campaign but Ange Postecoglou will be a happy man if the duo can get close to 30 goals between themselves.
