Leeds United emerge favourites to sign Tottenham outcast Manor Solomon on loan
Tottenham Hotspur are extremely active in the summer transfer window with many fringe players seeking exit from N17.
There are certain pressing areas in the squad that the north Londoners want to address before the August 30 transfer deadline. Nonetheless, it is pivotal to offload the deadwood from the squad to balance the books amid constant Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR) scrutiny.
Tottenham have sold Emerson Royal, Oliver Skipp and Joe Rodon while releasing some players at the end of June to make space in the squad for fresh blood. Another player they want to get rid of is Manor Solomon.
Manor Solomon is surplus to requirements for Ange Postecoglou, which has led to the club placing him on the chopping block amid interest from several clubs including Wolverhampton Wanderers and Leicester City. Another club has now joined the race for the £60k-a-week star’s signature.

According to Israeli news outlet Sport5 (h/t GIVEMESPORT), Champions side Leeds United are exploring a loan move for Manor Solomon.
The Israel international’s signing on a free transfer from Fulham last summer was considered as a snip following his eye-catching performances at Craven Cottage. Unfortunately, things haven’t gone as per the plan for the 25-year-old after a bright start to life in a Spurs shirt, with a serious meniscus injury last October forcing him to watch the season pan out from the sidelines.
Having fully recovered from his long-term injury just last month, Solomon was involved in the Tottenham pre-season tour in some capacity. However, Big Ange not selecting him in the travelling squad to face newly-promoted Leicester City in Spurs’ season opener on Monday was a clear indication that the player doesn’t feature in his plans.
Given his patchy injury record since arriving in England from Ukraine a couple of years ago, clubs are understandably hesitant to sign Solomon permanently. The case is the same for Leeds United, with Solomon—earning the nickname of “pocket rocket” by the Sky Sports Super Sunday panel last year—also contemplating his future at N17.
According to the aforementioned report (h/t GIVEMESPORT), Leeds United are the main candidates to secure the Spurs outcast’s signature. Having lost key forwards such as Luis Sinisterra, Crysencio Summerville and Georginio Rutter this summer, the Peacocks want to strengthen the attacking unit by bringing in Solomon to Elland Road. They look determined to achieve promotion under Daniel Farke after narrowly missing out last season.

Considering how well-stocked Spurs’ wide department is at the moment—particularly after the capture of Wilson Odobert from Burnley—it is safe to say that Solomon’s services aren’t required at the club. Thus, our club must offload the fleet-footed attacker by pushing Leeds to agree on a loan plus obligation to buy.
