Manor Solomon set to undergo medical at Leeds United before joining on loan from Spurs

Tottenham winger Manor Solomon closing in on loan move to Leeds United

After completing the bulk of summer signings, Tottenham Hotspur have shifted their focus toward outgoings at the business end of the transfer window.

The Lilywhites have released, loaned and sold players to allow fresh blood to be pumped in, resulting in the captures of so many exciting talents this summer. Following the sale of Oliver Skipp to newly promoted Leicester City last week, another player now appears to be heading out of the club’s main door.

There has been speculation surrounding the future of Manor Solomon at Tottenham since the start of the month. Only recovering from a serious injury last month, the Israeli winger is surplus to requirements for Ange Postecoglou and Spurs are ready to let him leave now.

According to transfer insider Paul O Keefe, Manor Solomon is on the brink of joining Championship side Leeds United. He is set to undergo his medical on Saturday before putting put to paper on a loan deal with the Whites.

Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has further shed light on Solomon’s move to Leeds United, claiming on his official X account that the winger has rejected a bid from La Liga side Getafe to stay in England as it was always his priority. The deal is in the concluding stages.

“Manor Solomon set for medical tests at Leeds United on Saturday,” Fabrizio Romano tweeted.

“He’s leaving Spurs after rejecting bid from Getafe as England has always been his priority. Deal at final stages with #LUFC, as @pokeefe1 reports.”

Leeds United had recently emerged favourites to sign the £60k-a-week Tottenham winger, who wasn’t included in Ange Postecoglou’s side for the game against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Monday. Big Ange not picking Solomon was a clear indication that he isn’t a part of his plans and things are happening for a potential departure behind the scenes.

Nicknamed “pocket rocket” by the Sky Sports Super Sunday panel last year, the Israel international was also exploring his options knowing that it will be difficult to break into the Spurs side this season due to intense competition within the squad.

After a serious meniscus injury suffered in October that resulted in him missing the rest of the season, the 25-year-old—having regained full fitness now—needs to get regular minutes to get back his lost mojo. And that looks unlikely to happen under Big Ange, so the fleet-footed winger should leave on loan for Leeds, get match sharpness and minutes before returning to north London next year.

On that note, wishing Solomon an injury-free campaign at Elland Road. He is an extremely talented player and we would like to see him shine in the Championship and help Leeds achieve promotion this season.
