Ange Postecoglou dissects the intricacies of Tottenham's 'excellent' performance vs Everton

Tottenham Hotspur had a field trip when they faced Everton yesterday, as the North Londoners blew Sean Dyche’s side out of the water to gain a comfortable three points at White Hart Lane.

This marked Spurs first win in the new Premier League season following a massive turnaround in performance from the draw against Leicester City at the King Power last weekend.

It was expected to be a tricky outing for the Lilywhites, especially after the news surrounding Dominic Solanke’s injury broke out. However, the hosts thrashed all hopes and beyond of the Merseyside Blues.

Yves Bissouma, who was making his first appearance wearing the Spurs badge this season, started the scoring before Son Heing Min made it two in no time. Real Madrid’s Cristian Romero made it three in the second half before Son returned with another to complete a brilliant performance.

It is safe to say that the Spurs boss was over the moon after yesterday’s performance, and that showed in the press conference after the match. The Australian boss reiterated how his team’s performance was exemplary this weekend and the weekend before as well, with the only difference being a bit of ‘discipline’ in both facets of the game.

He also spoke about how his side was creating chances every time they went forward and credited the set-piece ability on the defensive side as well.

Ange speaks after the game

Speaking in the post-game press conference, Ange said: (via. Football.London)

“Yeah, the performance was excellent. I said after the game, I thought the performance last week was excellent too, but you’ve got to also turn that sort of dominant performance into outcomes and results. We did today, we looked really threatening going forward all the time. We created many chances, different kinds of chances,

and I thought we handled their threat which they still are from set pieces and long balls really well today. So there was a little discipline in both aspects of the game.”
