Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to add marquee players to the current roster before the ongoing summer transfer window comes to a close. Daniel Levy & Co. have made some exciting signings in the offseason, and the officials at Hotspur Way would be looking to add to the window as they look to ensure that Ange Postecoglou has needed armory in his squad to compete for the top four places along the season.
The Lilywhites have been linked with a move for highly regarded young winger cum attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze.
“Silly money” needed for Spurs to sign Eze
Eze has been subject to ample links with a move away from Crystal Palace as he looks to follow Michael Olise’s footsteps out of Selhurst Park. The Arsenal academy reject has long-established links with a move to White Hart Lane; however, nothing has materialized beyond just initial interests.

The £100k-a-week star described as ‘drunken master’ would be a headline signing for Ange Postecoglou’s side. Although Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Sheth believes that Spurs will have to pay ‘silly money’ if they are to snap his signatures from the Eagles, The reporter argues that Palace have sold two stars this summer (Olise and Andersen), and Eze’s expired release clause at Selhurst Park means that any viable suitors will have to pay way more if they are to push Palace into selling him.
Crystal Palace in control
Speaking on the Last Word On Spurs podcast, Dharmesh Sheth said:
“It certainly looks that way. Crystal Palace don’t want to lose yet another player. We have seen Olise go, and the Guehi deal won’t go away, Joachim Andersen is on his way to Fulham.
“One thing in Palace’s favour now is that they hold the cards more than they did last week, that’s because of the release clause, it has expired. If someone comes in with silly money they would have to consider that, because they’re Crystal Palace.”

At the moment, it looks unlikely for Tottenham to spend a mighty fortune on one player, especially considering that they already shed over £40 million on multiple occasions in the window.
While there will be arrivals at White Hart Lane, a move for Eze might be a touch too far for Spurs this summer.
Do you think Tottenham should splash money to bring Eze to the N17 this summer?
