Dutch heavyweights Ajax could make a late swoop for Tottenham outcast Manor Solomon if a deal with Leeds United breaks down
Having completed the bulk of their signings, Tottenham Hotspur are focusing on clearing the deadwood in the final week of the summer transfer window. And one player they have been actively trying to move on Manor Solomon.
Championship side Leeds United emerged as the favourites to sign Manor Solomon from Tottenham last week. A move to Leeds United on loan was practically being considered done and dusted, but that no longer appears to be the case.
The Israel International’s switch to Elland Road is in danger of collapsing due to the two clubs’ failure to agree on finances. Solomon is understood to have passed his medical tests at Thorpe Arch but significant financial differences have emerged at the final hour.

Although talks continue between the two parties to resolve the matter, the player and his camp have started exploring other options before the transfer window slams shut.
According to a report from Football London, Ajax are ready to swoop for Manor Solomon if his protracted loan move to Leeds United breaks down. The Eredivisie giants could be waiting to ‘pounce’ on the Tottenham winger should they manage to offload players from their squad. French side Marseille have also shown an interest in the £60k-a-week Spurs man in recent days.
Solomon, nicknamed “pocket rocket” by the Sky Sports Super Sunday panel last year, arrived at Spurs last season on a free transfer from Fulham, having signed a five-year contract. There has been speculation surrounding his future at the Hotspur Way since the start of the month.
Having only recovered from a serious meniscus injury last month, the 25-year-old is deemed surplus to requirements for Big Ange, and as a result, Spurs are ready to let him leave now. The Israeli attacker was not included in the Spurs squad to face Leicester City and Everton in the opening two Premier League games of the new season, which was a clear signal that Big Ange doesn’t count on him moving forward.
At 25, Solomon cannot warm the benches at Spurs and must move on to aid his development. It is a shame that a move to Leeds is now on the verge of collapsing owing to financial differences. Luckily, there is interest in the player from Ajax and Marseille.

If a move to Elland Road doesn’t go through, we’d expect Ajax to make a late swoop for the diminutive attacker as Solomon clearly doesn’t have a future at N17.
