Min-hyuk Yang is one of the many young starlets Tottenham have signed this summer.
The young South Korean has been touted as the next “Son Heung-min,” which is high praise indeed given the two will be joined at club level in a few months’ time.
For the time being, the two are now set to team up at the international level.
Min-hyuk Yang named in latest South Korea squad
Tottenham-bound Min-hyuk Yang has been named in South Korea’s latest squad ahead of the upcoming international break.
Yang, born in 2006 and capable of playing at either wing, had been gaining a lot of plaudits for his performances in the K League 1 while playing for Gangwon before confirming his move to the Lilywhites earlier this summer. He’ll move to North London in January, once the ongoing K League 1 season ends.
Yang’s numbers at Gangwon so far read: 28 games, 8 goals, 5 assists.
South Korea face Palestine and Oman during the upcoming international break.
Big months ahead for Yang
Yang has been attracting a lot of interest not just because of his performances but also because of where he going to next up next year, with Spurs already boating South Korea’s greatest-ever footballing export and practising a “youth-first” recruitment strategy under Technical Director Johan Lange.
We have seen how young talents can crumple under pressure. We have also seen how a few take up the challenge like a duck to water and soar ever so high. One hopes for the sake of Yang and Spurs that the latter comes about in their case.

All this hype, however, has added a few levels of spotlight to Yang, and he can expect himself to be monitored closely in the lead-up to his arrival in North London this January.
