Tottenham’s £60k-a-week winger transfer in jeopardy of falling through

Tottenham transfer for £60k-a-week winger in danger of collapsing

One of the players Tottenham have been inclined towards selling this summer is Manor Solomon.

While his talent is unquestionable, his injury record over his spells at Fulham and Spurs have spurred the latter to make a quick buck on him.

A move to Leeds United was being considered all but done, but that no longer seems to be the case.

Leeds United’s move for Manor Solomon on the verge of collapse

As reported by Shay Lugassi, Manor Solomon’s move to Leeds United is on the verge of collapsing due to the two sides remaining apart in terms of agreement over financial compensation.

Solomon has already passed his medical and now awaits clearance from Hotspur Way, though he remains open to a move elsewhere too, with mainland Europe a possible destination for him.

Leicester City, Brighton, and Wolves have also expressed an interest in him in recent weeks.

Solomon arrived at Spurs last season on a free, having signed a five-year contract worth £60k per week.

After an injury-ridden season for the Israel international, the Lilywhites are already willing to move him on. Solomon is valued by Transfermarkt at €13 million.

Either way, Spurs win

If Solomon moves on, Spurs will have made a quick buck on a free transfer. If he has to stay, he will remain a desirable cog in Ange Postecoglou‘s wheel, being a forward who can operate both centrally and outwide.

There is not enough that can go wrong for Spurs here, so if they believe they can get more money for him, Spurs are better off standing their ground.

As for Solomon, the best-case scenario would be him moving elsewhere. At 25, he cannot afford to bench-warm.
