Fabrizio Romano gives latest update on player Tottenham want to sell

published :

Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to move on multiple players in the final days of the ongoing summer transfer window as the North Londoners aim to clear the surplus at Hotspur Way going into a new campaign.

While Daniel Levy and his team have done an exceptional job on the incomings as well as the outgoings side of things, there is still business to do before we start rating the window.

One of the tasks that Levy will have at his table is to move on Giovani Lo Celso. The Argentine midfielder has been subject to intense links with a move away from White Hart Lane, albeit to no success.

Lo Celso’s is a curious case. He walked through the doors at N17 with head held high and expectations to replace Eriksen, and while he did brilliantly initially, his shoulders succumbed to pressure, and his career has been at a mere stop since.

Many expected him to revive his career under Ange Postecoglou; however, that’s not been the case, and he is no longer a part of Australia’s plans for the new season.

Lo Celso has been linked with a potential return to Real Betis for a while; however, the Spanish club will need to move on Nabil Fekir before making a move for the Argentine maestro.

Romano provides the latest on his exit

Nabil Fekir has been linked with a move to Saudi side Al Jazira, and Betis have been pushing to land Gio Lo Celso as his replacement, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

The Italian journalist took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to put across the latest update on Gio’s move away from Spurs.

Fabrizio wrote:

Lo Celso’s future is a curious one for the Lilywhites supporters, and with only two days to go in the ongoing window, they would hope his exit is sealed rather than going into yet another year with his surplus wages on the books.
