Tottenham Hotspur have been busy with the transfer window antics today as the club also finds out the set of opponents that Ange Postecoglou’s side will face in Europe this season:
The North Londoners went to the wire for an opportunity to qualify for the Champions League last season; however, they couldn’t get the better of Aston Villa. With Unai Emery’s side finding out their draws for the UCL yesterday, Tottenham have found out their Europa League opponents after the draws for UEFA’s second tier took place earlier today.
A revamped UEL format
The Europa League has undergone an overhaul in the format as they take on a feature from the Champions League’s leaf where all 36 teams will play in a single league.
All eight opponents will be different as per pot draws, which will ultimately be the decider to knock out stages, and that follows into the last sixteen stages.

The top eight will progress directly into the round of sixteen, while the teams finishing 9th to 24th will go into a knockout round, which is a little more familiar with two-legged ties.
Tottenham have learnt their fate for the League round of games. The Lilywhites have a few tricky fixtures; among them is a trip to Rangers after hosting Italian giants AS Roma at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. A trip to Galatasaray is equally daunting.

It is a decent draw for Tottenham, and Spurs fans would be hoping to finish in the top eight going into the Europa League campaign.
