Tottenham Hotspur enjoyed a splendid summer transfer window as Daniel Levy ensured that there are reasonable marquee arrivals at White Hart Lane along the window, and with the conclusion of the summer window, the chiefs at Tottenham have already started laying blue prints for the upcoming transfer intervals.
Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze has been one of the players subject to aggressive links with a move to N17; however, despite rumours, no transfer materialised for the nine-capped England international.
The North Londoners need a creative outlet to support James Maddison, and Eberechi Eze was identified as the perfect midfielder who can fill that role, while his versatile profile means he can reap Ange Postecoglou benefits in multiple facets of the game.
Eze’s transfer gets more complicated
Eze is one of the marquee players in his position in the Premier League, and we saw that in the summer when the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal expressed interest in landing his services. While Tottenham are expected to face a fair share of troubles in their pursuit of the 26-year-old midfielder, things just got harder.
Spurs Premier League rivals Manchester United have now expressed interest in the Crystal Palace midfielder as Dan Ashworth looks to bring Eze to Old Trafford, per Fabrizio Romano. The Italian transfer guru reveals that the Manchester Reds have been scouting Eze and his former teammate Michael Olise, who joined Bayern Munich.
United don’t want to let go of another opportunity to bring a highly attributed Crystal Palace player to Carrington, and they are said to be among the race to sign Eze in 2025.
Eze transfer saga takes a new twist
Speaking on The Daily Briefing, Romano said:
“For sure, Eze is a player United have been scouting and monitoring as they appreciate his ability; the same was true of Michael Olise while he was at Crystal Palace, but the deal was too expensive, and he joined Bayern Munich instead.
“In the next months, United will be tracking several wingers, and in summer 2025 there is a concrete chance that they will invest money in a new signing for that position.

“For now, I’m not in a position to say that it’s guaranteed that they’ll move for Eze, or who will be their top target, but they will consider bringing in a new winger, and so they will be following several players in the next months.
“I will try to keep you posted on the players they like, on the options they have on the table, on the possibilities they are considering, but for sure, Manchester United are keeping a close eye on opportunities in that position for 2025.”

For Tottenham supporters, following this deal just got a lot harder, just like the realism of bringing the player to White Hart Lane. However, Daniel Levy and his chiefs would be keen to have a sense of Lucas Bergvall and his development before putting their hands in the mix to fork out another sixty-or-so million in January or the following summer.
