Tottenham to compete with Man City to sign 20-year-old defender

Eyeing another highly regarded potential, Spurs have now been linked with a move for highly regarded Austrian defender Samson Baidoo. 

The 20-year-old has enjoyed an impressive rise to senior football at RB Salzburg after coming up the ranks through Red Bull owned club. Baidoo was handed his first team bow following the summer of 2022, and he has progressed abundantly since, and his rising levels have got multiple clubs across Europe eyeing his signatories.

Premier League giants Manchester City and Newcastle United are looking at a possible move for Samson Baidoo, alongside Tottenham, per Graeme Bailey. The 20-year-old did endure an injury-laden 2023/24 season; however, he did impress when opportunities came his way and showed the potential he possesses. 

For Tottenham, the Australian head coach already has Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, and Radu Dragusin on his roster at Tottenham Hotspur; however, the former Celtic manager wants to add more depth. Micky has consistent injury problems, while his Argentine counterpart has tendencies to pick up suspensions every now and then, making it important for Spurs to add depth to the position.

It will be

a difficult deal to do for the Lilywhites, as the Cityzens have been scouting the player for 18 months.
