Tottenham star Yves Bissouma available to face Brentford
Tottenham Hotspur have not met the high expectations in the opening four Premier League games of the new season.
Ange Postecoglou and his team are in the bottom half of the table, having won just once and lost two. They were beaten 1-0 by Arsenal in the North London derby last weekend which piled up the pressure on Ange Postecoglou.
However, the Lilywhites managed to calm down the situation to some extent with a 2-1 win over Coventry City in the Carabao Cup third round in midweek, despite their performance being far from ideal. Ahead of Spurs’ Premier League home game against Brentford on Saturday, Big Ange has received an injury boost with regards to Yves Bissouma.

“Bissouma trained today so he should be available for tomorrow,” Big Ange said in his pre-match press conference on Friday (h/t Football London).
Yves Bissouma missed last weekend’s North London derby defeat by Arsenal and the subsequent cup trip to Coventry City with an issue picked up while away on international duty with Mali. He had suffered a slight tweak in his groin during his country’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifier against Eswatini.
Before the first international break of the season, Bissouma had started back-to-back games against Everton and Newcastle United after being suspended for the season-opener at newly-promoted Leicester City due to an off-field incident.
He had worked his way into Big Ange’s starting XI and delivered a strong performance as well as scored a pile-driver in the 4-0 home win over Everton. The African star did perform well against Newcastle too but we lost the game 2-1 at St James’ Park.
Needless to say, the £55,000-per-week midfielder is an essential cog in Postecoglou’s team, and with the Lilywhites playing in Europe this term and keen to go deep in all their cup tournaments, it is absolutely imperative that the Malian stays fit for most of the campaign going forward.
Provided he has trained fully without interruption, Big Ange would start Bissouma in the middle of the park alongside James Maddison and Rodrigo Bentancur against a strong Brentford side. His availability is a big boost as the Mali international brings balance to the team and adds a lot of value defensively.

Let’s hope Bissouma starts the game and delivers a strong performance against the Bees on Saturday.
