Another setback for Spurs as Ange Postecoglou confirms extended period on sidelines for Tottenham star

published :

Tottenham Hotspur have been suffering from a bit of an injury crisis despite the season being young, and we have seen the Lilywhites’ season take a toll because of those missing numbers. Spurs have accumulated only four points in the opening four games of the Premier League season.

One of the players who has been facing consistent spells on the sidelines has continued to do so in the new season at Richarlison. The Brazilian forward has struggled massively to keep fit since moving to White Hart Lane two years ago. To put it into numbers: Richy has picked up six injuries since moving to N17.

Frustration mounts as Richarlison faces extended absence

Richarlison faces extended spell out

The former Watford striker spent the final lot of the games last season on the sidelines, which came with a summer full of rehabilitation and expectations were he’d hit the ground running in the 2024/25 campaign. However, in turn of unfortunate events, he has picked up another injury, and his involvement has been limited to just two substitute appearances this season.

While there hasn’t been any confirmation of what kind of injury the player has suffered or the nature of it, Tottenham head coach Ange Postecoglou has confirmed that Richy will face an extended period on the sidelines.

Knife or not?

When speaking about Richy’s fitness in his pregame press conference, Ange Postecoglou said: (via. Football.London)

“[Richarlison] is a fair way off. You’re better off not asking about him until I give an update because he’s not with the first team.”

It comes with more set of concerns when the club doesn’t put out information around the injury. Things could possibly point to the medical team still waiting to see if the player needs to go under the knife or not.

We will see how this turns out, but these games missed would definitely add to Levy’s frustrations.
