Ange Postecoglou‘s Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to get back on track with a win against Thomas Frank’s Brentford as they look to put recent struggles behind. However, the North London side must be wary of the threat posed by Bryan Mbeumo when they face the Bees later today, despite them being without Yoane Wissa.
Brentford boss confirmed that Wissa will be out for a couple of months after sustaining an injury against Manchester City last Saturday which comes as a boost to Spurs, but they cannot underestimate Brentford’s capabilities.
Bryan Mbeumo is still a threat
In an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, Sky Sports and talkSPORT journalist Dan Bardell believes that the 28-year-old Cameroon international will be a threat to Ange’s side even without Wissa’s presence.
Bardell said:
“I still think it will be a tricky game. Brentford are a difficult outfit to play whoever they line up with.
“Their best and most important player is Mbeumo; he and Wissa have been brilliant for them.
“Obviously, Wissa is not playing against Tottenham; they are weakened. It is Mbeumo who Spurs have got to watch; he and Brentford are good at a lot of things.“
Wissa injury offers Tottenham advantage
Wissa’s absence may be an be an easy load at the back for the Lilywhites considering that the player has been impressive thus far this season.

This may play in the favour of the Spurs side, who have been on the wrong end on the performance-wise lately. A hard-fought 2-1 victory over Coventry City in the EFL Cup third round hasn’t done much to ease concerns and will be looking back to get on track in the Premier League after losing their last two games to Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United.
With that being said, there is an excellence chance for Spurs to bounce back to winning ways against the Bees after a difficult spell.
