Tottenham Hotspur have done a remarkable job to get rid of the surplus at Hotspur Way, and one of the players that bid adieu to White Hart Lane in the summer has already been impressing in his short time with his new employers.
The Lilywhites managed to sell Giovani Lo Celso in the final bout of the deadline day as the Argentine maestro returned to Real Betis five years after leaving the Serie A club to join the North Londoners.
Lo Celso rekindles form, a reminder to everything that he would have been at Tottenham
The 28-year-old has endured a difficult time at Hotspur Way as he struggled to settle in his time in the English top tier. Ange Postecoglou tried to give opportunities to Lo Celso in the previous season, albeit it didn’t work out, and he was on the shopping list coming into the new campaign.
Lo Celso has been featuring in the number ten role for Betis against Getafe in the mid-week and reciprocated the trust with style as he netted a brace to come on top and ensure that his employers take a 2-1 win at the night.

The Argentine scored the first from a dead ball from the spot just around the hour mark as the keeper jumped the wrong way. They followed that up with a deflected shot from the edge of that box that flew in behind the last man to secure the win for Betis.
Brace helps kick-start return to Spain
Spanish publication Diario de Sevilla expressed their thrill at how Giovani Lo Celso has started his new spell, weakening the Betis badge. The report stated that the North London side displayed ‘so much quality’ in his outing and showed exactly what Manuel Pellegrini’s side has been missing.
The report adds that the Argentine ‘don’t need to run’ owing to his technical abilities, as they rave about his performance on Wednesday night. They also write that Tottenham were asking too much from him on the physical side of things, which led to the player struggling at White Hart Lane.
He hasn’t shown his physical abilities at N17, something that is integral to success in English football. That being said, following years of struggle, it is good to see the 28-year-old thriving and enjoying his life on the pitch.
