Tottenham Hotspur skipper Son Heung-min has been on the wrong side of comments lately as the South Korean has struggled to get going in the new season. One of the sights of his struggles came when the Son failed to take a shot against Arsenal in the North London Derby at White Hart Lane.
Apparently it has become a pattern, and John Wenham, owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose, has expressed his confusion over the £190,000-per-week wide forward’s reluctance to take shots in the Spurs 3-1 win over Brentford as well.
Is Son losing his touch?
Son did have a splendid game against Brentford, ending the afternoon with two assists to his name as he climbs the feat in assist standings at White Hart Lane. However, the South Korean international failed to make the scoresheet yet again, and Wenham questions the reasons behind it.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, Wenham said:

“I thought Son’s performance was a bit strange. He was put through on goal twice. However, he opted to delay instead of shooting both times, which was unusual for him. Son is one of the best finishers in world football.
“Therefore, this is probably a confidence thing. However, I’m sure the goals will come for him soon. Hopefully starting against either Qarabağ or Manchester United.”
What does Ange do now?
The 31-year-old has only scored twice in the opening five games of the new Premier League season, and both of those goals came in Tottenham’s 4-0 win over Everton at White Hart Lane.
He hasn’t been performing at his optimal level for neither his club nor country this season.
Does the fact that Son is struggling in front of goal push Ange Postecoglou to consider starting him in the Lilywhites game against Qarabağ FK on Thursday (26 September) in a bid to give the 31-year-old some confidence?
