Tottenham Hotspur were looking to bring in a new striker in the summer transfer window, and they replicated their needs by bringing Dominic Solanke in a £65m deal; despite doing so, there has been speculation linking Bayer Leverkusen’s ace Victor Boniface with a move to White Hart Lane.

Are Spurs making a mistake by not pushing harder for Boniface?

Daniel Levy has incurred a change in his transfer policy in the recent windows where we have seen the Lilywhites prioritise signing young talents with high ceilings. And after securing some smart signings off late, the North Londoners were reportedly eyeing Boniface as their next potential coup.

However, All Nigeria Soccer has poured cold water on these claims. The report suggests that the player is content on continuing at Bayer Leverkusen and is not planning any immediate departure from the German champions.

It’s easy to see why Ange Postecoglou would want to bring the 23-year-old Nigerian to the N17. Moreover, to support the rumours, there were reports that Tottenham representatives were in attendance during Leverkusen’s recent match against Wolfsburg, where Boniface came off the bench to net a dramatic injury-time winner. However, it seems this scouting mission may have been overstated following the report by All Nigeria Soccer.

And while Boniface’s goal-scoring ability would undoubtedly bolster Spurs attacking options, it appears any move for the striker is mere speculation as of now.
