Tottenham Hotspur have endured a slow start to their 2024/25 campaign; however, Ange Postecoglou’s side seem to be gaining some momentum now as they make three wins from three after the Lilywhites 3-0 win versus Qarabağ FK in the Europa League despite going down to 10 men in the opening ten minutes.
To look back, the North Londoners had started the season with only one win in the first four league games. Things were looking gloomy around White Hart Lane, but the Australian has managed to turn Spurs fortunes. In the league, they returned to winning ways with a 3-1 battering of Brentford, which saw Dominic Solanke score his first goal in Lilywhites colours.
Spurs look to continue their upward form
The Lilywhites made a late comeback against Coventry City in the League Cup before their win over Thomas Frank’s side. And yesterday they defeated the Azerbaijani side to make it three in three.
Looking forward, the Lilywhites are scheduled to face Manchester United at the weekend as Ange Postecoglou takes his side on a trip to Old Trafford.
Erik ten Hag’s side is expected to be a direct rival to Spurs pursuit of a top-four finish, which makes it a six-pointer for both sides. And going away to Manchester Reds, Ange will have a point to prove to show that the signs of progress in the recent weeks are real.
Neville and Carragher predict Man Utd win over Spurs
That being said, former United and Liverpool stars Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher insist that the North Londoners will not come out on top of ten Hag’s side this weekend.
While speaking on Stick to Football, the former Manchester Reds defender said, “I think Manchester United are winning that game. They struggle to score goals for Manchester United, but I just think Sunday will be a good atmosphere, and Tottenham is always a good game at Old Trafford. I will go 2-1 Man United.”
His Liverpool counterpart added: “2-1 Man United—when you start to say Man United played well away at Palace and they drew 0-0, it’s like ‘Oh my God’.”

The duo went on to make a slight change to their predictions; Neville added, “Shall we raise them and go 3-1? (After Roy Keane and Ian Wright predicted that result, I think we will get a third goal late on.”
While Spurs have incurred a difficult season, so has United, and these predictions are heavy on the fact that Erik ten Hag’s side are hosting the North Londoners.
