Tottenham face a stern test against Manchester United at Old Trafford
Tottenham Hotspur head coach Ange Postecoglou has been putting his lads through their paces ahead of Sunday’s big Premier League clash against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The Lilywhites have found some rhythm after a tough start to the 2024/25 season, winning three games across all competitions on the bounce. They edged Coventry City 2-1 in the Carabao Cup third round last week, and beat Brentford 3-1 at home in the Premier League the previous weekend before seeing off Qarabag 3-1 in their Europa League opener in midweek despite being a man down.
So, it is a relatively quick turnaround in games for Ange Postecoglou and his boys, who now travel to Greater Manchester to take on the Mancunian giants. Tottenham were undefeated against Manchester United last season—beating Erik ten Hag’s men 2-0 at home before drawing 2-2 at Old Trafford in the Premier League.

Spurs look in good form and shape after the recent run of positive results. Wary of the challenge at Old Trafford, Big Ange has claimed that his team will be ready for it on Sunday as Spurs look to kickstart their Premier League season.
“You look at their record irrespective of the managers, it’s still a fairly compelling record there and they’ve got some real quality players. So, we had a really good game there last year. We ended up 2-2 and it was a cracking game and yeah, it’s one we’re going to be ready for,” Postecoglou said in his pre-match press conference (h/t ESPN).
Man United may not have enjoyed an ideal start to the season and already lost two Premier League games against Brighton and Liverpool respectively, but they still are a strong side, especially at home. Like us, they are sitting mid-table and hunting for inspiration to kickstart the campaign.
So, the North London side cannot afford to take Ten Hag’s men lightly. We must start fast, aggressively and on the front foot to pressurize them and get an early goal as quickly as possible to silence the Old Trafford faithful.
Big Ange will be delighted to see our forwards slowly starting to gel and put away chances. He will expect the team to be ruthless in front of goal while being defensively resolute if we are to return to North London with a positive result.

All in all, a win against Man United albeit a struggling one would be extremely morale-boosting for Spurs.
