Archie Gray has hailed Son Heung-min for helping him settle down at Tottenham
Tottenham Hotspur faced a tough assignment in the Europa League on Thursday evening, which they passed with a 3-0 win against Azerbaijan champions Qarabag.
Summer signing from Leeds United, Archie Gray did really well in his first game in Europe and proved he can shine on big nights. After Spurs were reduced to 10 men in the seventh minute following a straight red card to defender Radu Dragusin, the 18-year-old played a key role in helping his team see off Qarabag and start the European campaign on a high note.
The England youth international hasn’t quite established himself as a starter under Ange Postecoglou but he has been decent when given opportunities. Archie Gray, after the big-money move from Championship side Leeds in July, has been discussing with Sky Sports how he has adapted to life at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

The teenager says he is settling in well and has had a lot of backing from his Tottenham teammates, stating that skipper Son Heung-min has been of great help to date. He spoke highly of the South Korean international, stating that a character like him in the dressing room is ‘priceless’.
“Son has been helping us, helping us with everything, especially us two (himself and Lucas Bergvall). He’s always looking after the squad. Everyone knows he is a great role model, he’s such a nice guy and always nice to everyone. Someone like that in the squad is priceless, for him to be captain is amazing. I can’t thank him enough,” Gray said in an exclusive interview with Sky Sports.
Son Heung-min is an integral part of everything that Spurs are building under Ange Postecoglou. He has established himself as a key cog at White Hart Lane since Harry Kane’s departure to Bayern Munich in the 2023 summer transfer window.
The 32-year-old has etched his name in the Spurs history books already, and in the process of doing so, he has also established himself as a true leader, motivator and role model at the club. The South Korean, who moved to the Premier League back in 2015 from Bayer Leverkusen, has been revered by everyone in and around the club including the fans.
Thus, it isn’t surprising to see Son playing a major role in helping youngsters like Gray and Bergvall to settle down at the club after their respective moves from Leeds and Djurgardens earlier this year.

As far as Gray is concerned, he will be raring to impress in the forthcoming games and try to break into Big Ange’s first XI as quickly as possible.
