Tottenham prodigy Callum Olusesi making waves at the Under-21 level this season
Talented young midfielder Callum Olusesi penned his first professional contract with Tottenham Hotspur back in March. They fended off long-term interest from Manchester United to bag his signature, with club chiefs at the Hotspur Way viewing him as a “star in the making”.
The 17-year-old is highly regarded within the club after his impressive performances in the FA Youth Cup and his outings for the under-18s last season.
Following his eye-catching displays for the under-18s, he has been promoted to the under-21s this season. Callum Olusesi has clocked 360 minutes across four under-21 games for Tottenham thus far this season, netting two goals.

The teenager’s progress at the academy level hasn’t gone unnoticed, with reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose owner John Wenham speculating that he could be loaned out in January. He feels Tottenham may decide to send Olusesi out on loan to EFL League Two side Notts County to help him gain experience in men’s football.
“This could be a really good club for us to work alongside,” John Wenham said in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News.
“If we could build up a good relationship with them, and they’re playing our players, we could already be looking to loan them someone else in January.
“Perhaps Olusesi will head there in January. Let’s wait and see.”
Tottenham have a pool of young talents, and with high potential in the roster comes responsibility to ensure that their development is managed in the right environment. Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou is very well aware of which youngsters are capable of making an immediate impression in the first team and which could do well with a loan. Thus, he sanctioned loan moves for quite a few academy talents and youngsters in the past summer transfer window.
One of the highly regarded Hotspur Way academy graduates to leave the club on loan in the summer was George Abbott, who joined Notts County for the 2024/25 season. The Tottenham under-21 skipper has made a solid start to his loan spell with Notts County, racking up four league appearances.
Considering how quickly Abbott has settled in at Notts County, Spurs may count it as one of the factors when deciding to send the talented Olusesi out on loan when the transfer window reopens in January. Olusesi looks head and shoulders above in the under-21s and could do extremely well with a temporary loan move.

Meadow Lane could be the ideal destination for the 17-year-old to go, get regular minutes and earn some valuable experience. If Notts County persists with giving Abbott consistent game time, we must not think twice before loaning Olusesi to the League Two outfit.
