It was a victory of intent from Tottenham last night as they beat Man United 3-0 at Old Trafford.
Micky van de Ven kicked off the proceedings in sensational fashion as his lung-bursting run resulted in Brennan Johnson tapping in from close range to help Spurs draw first blood.
After the game, the Welshman duly praised his Dutch teammate as his team put United to the sword.
Brennan Johnson praises Micky van de Ven after Man United win
After his side’s victory over Man United, Tottenham forward Brennan Johnson heaped praises on Micky van de Ven in his post-match interview.
“I think as soon as he started going I just thought, there’s no one faster arguably in the Premier League than Micky when he gets going.
“So I think, I knew he wasn’t going to stop any time soon, as soon as he got to a position where he could cross it I knew I had to be there and once it came to me and I knew I was free I might have smiled a little bit before it went in.
“I just had to be in that position so once I was I was happy to put it in.”

The Netherlands international keeps raising his stock as one of the league’s most prominent defenders.
Johnson, on the other hand, continues his purple patch after what was a trying start to the season. He now has four goals from eight appearances for the Lilywhites across all competitions.
Up next for Tottenham is an away day in Hungary as they face Ferencvaros in their second Europa League fixture.
Good for Johnson, great for Spurs
A lot can be said about what United could have done last night, but credit goes to Spurs for taking apart a side there for the taking right from the word go.
Last night was a great outing for not only Johnson but also Dominic Solanke, who has now managed to get the goals flowing after a tricky start and can start building upon his strong performances.
It’s hard for one to not feel happy for Johnson after his recent experience with social media abuse, which while being unsurprising was reprehensible all the same, and once again credit goes to Ange Postecoglou for backing and defending his player the right way.
