Strongest Tottenham XI against Brighton & Hove Albion

Tottenham Hotspur are finally on some winning run after their slow start to the Premier League season, and going into the game at the weekend against Brighton, the Lilywhites have got an unlikely boost as the hosts would be without one of their key players when they welcome Ange Postecoglou’s side to American Express Stadium this weekend.

The Lilywhites have been firing on all cylinders going into the game; however, Fabian Hürzeler’s side has proven to be a tricky bunch to deal with for the other managers, and the Greek-born tactician would be out of it.

Brennan Johnson will be looking to take advantage of Van Hecke absence

For Tottenham, going into the game, Welsh wide forward Brennan Johnson is enjoying an exotic purple patch with four goals in four games, and he would want to keep his goal-scoring knack alive. Meanwhile, Dominic Solanke will also want to match the former Nottingham Forest winger’s tally of four in four (right now the former Liverpool striker is at three in three).

Aiding the North Londoners, the Seagulls will be without one of their key defenders, Jan Paul van Hecke, when Spurs visit this weekend. The Dutch defender is expected to miss the game on 6th October, while there are possibilities he could also be missing when Brighton lineup on October 19, per  Voetbal International.

While he is a defender, he has a knack to play in a forward role and continually cause problems from the build-up phase, and while his groin problem is not as serious as initially feared, he is surely to miss this weekend’s clash.

The hosts are likely to have Lewis Dunk and Adam Webster at the heart of defence, and their Ange would be looking to target their lack of pace to get an upper hand in the offensive sequences.
