Strongest Tottenham XI against Brighton & Hove Albion

Tottenham and Man United came together recently in what turned out to be a one-sided affair; the Lilywhites ran riot at Old Trafford and walked home with a 3-0 victory.

Off the pitch, the two sides are undergoing several changes and have adopted a buy-young policy for their long-term plans.

To that end, they are likely to battle in the boardroom for an upcoming talent.

Tottenham monitoring Tyler Dibling, Man United also in the mix

According to TeamTalk, both Man United and Tottenham are scouting young Southampton midfielder Tyler Dibling.

The 18-year-old has just begun his second season in senior football and, despite his side’s poor start to this season after returning to the English topflight, has been garnering praises for his performances.

The 2006-born attacking midfielder’s current Southampton record reads thus: one goal and two assists in 13 appearances across all competitions.

Valued by Transfermarkt at €5 million, the England U19 international’s current £5k-per-week Saints contract is set to expire at the end of this season.

Let’s see how the season goes

Given the interest and Southampton’s start to the season, one can understand why Dibling may not sign a contract extension to remain at St Mary’s.

For United, their leverage in the race for Dibling’s signature will be the Jason Wilcox connection, while Tottenham offer a more tangible project given their recent summer’s exploits.

If Southampton’s poor run continues deep into the season, however, Dibling may have to remain at St Mary’s for a season or two to prove his ability to work through hardships and be able to stamp his authority on the pitch.
