That said, his so-called “curse” followed him to Munich as Bayern failed to win the league for the first time in over a decade.
And, despite starting this season strongly, questions have begun to surface regarding his contribution in the big games.

Harry Kane has been catching strays in the German media of late despite a surreal start to the season, with the editor of German tabloid BILD calling out the England captain for his lack of output during big games.
“Harry Kane is hanging around alone up front. What good are three goals against Kiel if he doesn’t even get a shot on goal in a big game like yesterday [Bayern’s 1-1 draw against Leverkusen]?
“Fairness dictates that we shouldn’t unleash the Kane-can’t-win-a-title curse now. Especially since he had to leave injured.”

With Bayern’s 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa in their second Champions League game, Kane has now gone back-to-back games without scoring a goal.
For the Bavarians this season, the 31-year-old has delivered ten goals and five assists in seven games across all competitions.
Noisy neighbours
We as consumers of football are primed to find a fault even when one does not actually exist; if we can’t create a narrative for a result out of thin air, what’s the point of discourse?
So it’s inevitable that a narrative pops up about Kane not doing enough. The same Kane who carried Tottenham on his shoulders with his output for nearly a decade. The same complete forward whose contributions up top have always gone well and beyond goal contributions.
Of course, results will continue driving narratives, and if Bayern were to not win the league again this season, most, if not all, fingers, will point to Kane.

Kane did himself little favours in Bayern’s 1-0 loss to Aston Villa in the UEFA Champions League. The Englishman fired another blank, leading to Bayern’s first Group stage loss in the competition in 42 attempts.
