Tottenham’s Van de Ven being eyed by Real Madrid
Tottenham Hotspur have conceded the second lowest number of goals in the Premier League this season as they rank just below Liverpool. Ange Postecoglou has built a solid defence, of which one key fixture’s future in north London has come under the radar.
According to Spanish source Fichajes (who cite Defensa Central), the Whites are pondering over a deal for Micky van de Ven in 2025. As per the report, his market value stands at €55 million, a sum which Real Madrid will be able to afford as they eye a defensive revamp.
Van de Ven has been impressive at Tottenham Hotspur, not least this season, and it comes as no surprise that Carlo Ancelotti’s outfit is keen on his purchase. All the central defenders in the Spanish capital, barring Eder Militao, are over the age of 30, so new signings are needed.
The 15-time European champions were even linked with a move for Cristian Romero some time ago but were priced out of his transfer as Spurs slapped a price tag worth over €100 million on the Argentine international and the Lilywhites could follow a similar strategy to stave off interest in Van de Ven.

The Dutchman has a contract at Tottenham until June 2029 [Transfermarkt], so Spurs still have a very good hold on his future and will be in a position to demand an exorbitant asking price if indeed Real Madrid make an enquiry into his signing, so fans should not worry about him possible leaving.
