Tottenham Hotspur had been looking at a mass exodus in the summer transfer window, and while we have moved on from the summer interval, the objective to get surplus players off the wage books at N17 continues, and striker Richarlison is one of those players who has been subject to links away from the club. The Brazilian has suffered from consistent injuries off late, which has pushed rumours linking him away from Spurs, and in the latest turn of events, he could be set for a shock return to Brazil as a potential move to his home country is on the cards.
The centre-forward has been a constant presence at the medics, and that is testing the patience of not only the chiefs at the club but also the supporters, and this could eventually result in an exit.
Richy was subject to links with a move to Saudi Arabia in the recently concluded summer transfer window; however, nothing materialised, although despite surviving the summer. Richarlison’s long-term prospects at Tottenham remain uncertain according to betFIRST football odds.
Richarlison linked to return to Brazil
Now, former Vasco da Gama star Edmundo has dropped a major hint about the club’s transfer plans for 2025. He has revealed Vasco da Gama’s ambition to bolster their squad with high-profile signings, and he didn’t shy away from name-dropping Richy as a potential target for 2025.

Speaking in an interview with CNN Brazil, Edmundo said:
“Now, the idea is to keep all the main players and hire two or three heavyweight players. One for the defence, one for the midfield and two for the attack. Heavyweight like Richarlison. I’m dreaming and I can guarantee that 2025 will be different.”
Unlikely prospects
His comments do suggest the ambitions that the Brazilian side have, and this could work well with Spurs ambition of vacating his seat in the dressing room. However, Vasco da Gama wouldn’t match the Middle Eastern clubs in financial offerings, and the club will have to consider cutting their losses on the 26-year-old.
For Richy, it would be an opportunity to return to his home country as a marquee signing and have the space to rediscover his form in familiar surroundings.
