Tottenham honcho Daniel Levy keeps 'huge fee' aside to bring in a marquee player in the winter transfer window.

Tottenham Hotspur have enjoyed a successful summer transfer window as we saw Daniel Levy bring in some exciting players while ensuring that the surplus at Hotspur Way were shipped out.

There has been a change of transfer policy at White Hart Lane, which is keenly despicable as we have seen an influx of multiple highly regarded young players from across Europe as Levy eyes to make a team capable of competing for silverware in the long term.

To push their policy towards signing highly rated young talent, Spurs scouts have reached the shores of Argentina as they look to sign the next Angel Di Maria in Vélez Sarsfield starlet, Thiago Fernández, per TBR football.

On the back of the news, ex-Spurs scout Bryan King has expressed concern about the prospect of the Lilywhites signing too many young players. He has warned that routing this way means Tottenham could fall into a trap like their London neighbours Chelsea, which could see them have so many youngsters in the dressing room that it wouldn’t leave space for the first team.

King warns Tottenham against signing too many young players

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, King said:

“For this kid to be put in that class, it is very flattering. However, there are only so many young players you can bring in. Spurs have signed quite a few and have some talented youngsters coming through their own ranks. Therefore, they’ve got to be careful not to flood the club with young players.

“They must make sure they don’t fall into a trap, like Chelsea did, where you have too many players and need to send them out on loan. You want these players at your football club where they have a chance to play with the first team.

“It is alright for interest to be mentioned but going out and buying these players is a different thing. I don’t think Tottenham need to go out and buy this player at the moment.”

Spurs already have loads of young talent at Hotspur Way, however, that being said, Thiago Fernández is a highly regarded talent, and it would be tempting for Spurs to pursue his signatures.
