Tottenham eye Valencia Striker

Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly joined the race to sign Valencia’s attacking star Hugo Duro. Fichajes reports that the Spanish forward’s consistent performances for Valencia have caught the attention of the Premier League side, with Spurs potentially preparing an offer for him next summer.

Hugo Duro, who earns approximately £69,767 per week, came through the ranks at Getafe before moving to Valencia on loan in the summer of 2021. The move became permanent the following year, and since then, Duro has continued to grow as a player. The Spaniard has appeared in 116 games for Valencia, contributing to 37 goals during his time at the club.

How Hugo Duro can help Tottenham

The 24-year-old striker had an impressive 2023/24 campaign, netting 13 goals and providing four assists. He has continued his fine form into the new season, scoring twice in seven league appearances so far.

While Hugo Duro’s goal-scoring record might not be the most prolific, his overall gameplay has earned him significant recognition. His pressing ability, intelligent movement, and instincts inside the box make him an exciting talent, one poised to improve even further as he gains more experience.

Duro’s consistent performances and promising potential have attracted interest from clubs across Europe. While several top teams are keen to sign the Valencia attacker, Tottenham have emerged as the frontrunners to secure his signature.

The North London club made headlines by spending a club-record fee to bring in Dominic Solanke during the summer. Though Ange Postecoglou finally landed the striker he sought, Spurs are not yet satisfied. Having a rotational striking force of Richarlison, Solanke and Duro would land them with the best attacking depth in the league.

The Spaniard could be an ideal fit for the North London club, and Tottenham have been monitoring his performances in La Liga closely. The Spurs are preparing to approach Valencia next summer, and the Spanish side is open to a potential move.

They would consider cashing in on Duro, provided they receive a suitable offer. However, Tottenham may encounter competition from other Premier League clubs eager to secure his signature.
