Tottenham exploring free agent option as Richarlison replacement – Report

Tottenham target David open to Juventus move amid PL dreams.

Tottenham Hotspur went into the last summer with clarity about signing a new striker at White Hart Lane, and they did exactly so when they forked out £65 million to bring Dominic Solanke as the Lilywhites looked to fill the Harry Kane void in the offensive line. While Daniel Levy has fixed one aspect of the striking options, another hold has opened up in the roster upfront.

Former Everton striker Richarlison has been an inconsistent presence in the Spurs roster, with his consistent injuries keeping him sidelined from representing the North Londoners on a regular basis. The chiefs at Hotspur Way are said to be growing frustrated with the Brazilian international, and they are looking to ship him away from N17 in the upcoming windows.

Spurs are looking to replace Richy with Jonathan David in 2025, and they may secure his signatures on a free transfer.

Tottenham had been linked with a move for the South American player in the past summer window; however, Daniel Levy opted to rather sign Solanke over the 24-year-old forward, and that may still happen yet again as the Canadian is scheduled to move away from his current employers at the end of his contract with the French side at the end of the ongoing campaign, per Spanish news outlet Sport.

The report states that the Lilywhites are still interested in the player who seems to be on the radar for a number of elite sides, including Barcelona, Newcastle United, Arsenal, Manchester United, Juventus, and Inter Milan.

There are also expectations that a number of sides have already contacted Jonathan David’s representatives, who can start speaking with clubs in January to sign a pre-agreement ahead of his contract expiry.

For Tottenham, they would want to create a dynamic partnership between the two strikers where Solanke and David could complement each other’s playing styles, with the latter’s physicality and ability to hold up play pairing well with the former’s pace and finishing skills.
