Tottenham Hotspur have been subject to links with Manchester United academy graduate midfielder Angel Gomes, who has been plying his trade with French side Lille at the moment. The 24-year-old is expected to leave his current employers at the end of the ongoing season on a free transfer as his contract with Lille comes due in June 2025, per Graeme Bailey via. TBRFootball.
The North Londoners are one of the clubs keeping a close eye on the situation.
Gomes fits the bill at N17
Daniel Levy has changed his transfer strategy where the club looks to sign highly regarded young players and groom them into their potential. While Gomes isn’t as young, he perfectly fits the approach and has high potential that can redeem high dividends.

Gomes has been playing some impressive football in the French top tier, so much so that his performances have earned him a senior call-up for the England national team, further raising his profile as the likes of Manchester City, Bayern Munich, RB Leipzig, and Inter Milan express strong interest in acquiring his services.
Double trouble?
Tottenham have been looking for a midfielder who can not only bring creative flare to the current roster but also provide mobile versatility along the spaces in games, and Gomes’ ability to operate both in the middle as well as out wide could add a dynamic element to Ange’s squad.
Spurs are also looking at his club teammate, Jonathan David, who is also expected to be available on a free transfer at the conclusion of the ongoing campaign.
