Former scout wants Spanish ace be the first one to leave Tottenham this summer

Tottenham Hotspur loanee Bryan Gil has been enjoying time back to being his previous self as he captures headlines in Spain with his performances for Girona. The silky winger was dubbed to do great things at White Hart Lane; however, he struggled to adapt to the physical style of English football and was soon forced on the sidelines.

Spurs were desperate to offload him in the recently concluded summer transfer window, and his nightmare stint in England came to a close when he secured a loan move to Spanish side Girona with a £12.5m release clause that will become active in the summer of 2025.

And Spanish publication Estadio Deportivo now suggests that the 23-year-old is once again delivering performances that recognised his talent as one of the best upcoming players in the country before his eventual move to Spurs. The report claims that Gil is ‘back to his best’ following a tough time in North London, and now he has secured the full backing of Girona head coach Michel.

His performances have made a lot of noise beyond Estadi Montilivi as Spain boss Luis de la Fuente recalled him into the national setup. Although the return to the Spanish squad didn’t go as planned, Gil had to withdraw from the La Roja set-up owing to some discomfort.

Irrespective of the recent setback, it looks like Gil has got his mojo back and he is playing freely finally. It is good to watch him thrive following a disastrous spell at Hotspur Way, and may he continue to do so for a long time.
