Tottenham Hotspur wide forward Brennan Johnson is enjoying a splendid purple patch off late as he enjoys a run of seven consecutive games where he found the back of the goal, and in a major boost to the Lilywhites, the Welsh winger is set to miss out on Wales’ upcoming Nations League game against Montenegro after picking up a yellow card in their recent outing against Iceland, per The Mirror.
Tottenham’s Johnson faces suspension
Johnson went into the international break on the back of a six-game goal-scoring streak, and he continued to compound his stellar form when his country lined up against Iceland. The 23-year-old netted the opening goal in the eleventh minute to make it seven goals in seven games. However, in what comes as a massive blow to Wales, his yellow card rules him out of their next game owing to suspension.
Despite the setback for Wales, Tottenham will choose to look at the brighter side of it as Brennan Johnson will get some rest before Spurs resume their Premier League duties as they host West Ham at White Hart Lane next Saturday following the international break.
Johnson’s redemption story continues
If you would have asked a month back, the £47.5 million move from Nottingham Forest would have been regarded as a massive flop deal and money wasted, and the player did receive ample of criticism after Spurs loss in the North London Derby, so much so that he was forced to deactivate his Instagram account. However, much has changed since, and Brennan seems to have found his focus and his Nottingham form in front of goal.
His performances have carried Spurs up the table, and Tottenham supporters would hope that the 23-year-old continues to do so.
