After their comeback defeat at the hands of Brighton in the weekend before last, Tottenham will get their chance to get back to winning ways this weekend.
The Lilywhites welcome West Ham at home in the Premier League as club football resume after this international break.
However, Spurs have been handed another hefty blow.
Tottenham handed another injury blow as Lucas Bergvall leaves Sweden squad
Tottenham have received a fresh injury blow as their teenage midfielder Lucas Bergvall has returned from international duty early after sustaining a “minor injury”.
Bergvall will now undergo rehabilitation at Hotspur Way and we can expect Spurs manager Ange Postecgolou to provide further update on the matter during the pre-game press conference later this week.
Spurs are already missing the likes of Richarlison, Wilson Odobert, and captain Son Heung-min.
The 18-year-old has made eight appearance for Spurs so far this season after completing his £8.6m move in the summer from Djurgården.
Bergvall has in place a £15k-per-week contract at Spurs that is set to run until June 2029.
More problems, fewer solutions
The only silver lining for Spurs here is that Bergvall is not yet an out-and-out starter, so if they shuffle the team around a bit they should be able to navigate through his absence.
The bigger problem, however, remains the fact that Spurs have already started sustaining multiple injuries after a stumbling start to the season in a campaign where they have to deliver silverware, both because of how last season went and Postecoglou’s recent comments.
The concern here remains that injuries will continue popping up as the season progresses, even more frequently.
