Tottenham Hotspur have incurred a change in transfer strategy where Daniel Levy looks to bring in highly regarded young players to White Hart Lane and nurture the players within Hotspur Way as Ange Postecoglou can shape them as per his playing style in the long term.
We saw the Lilywhites enjoy a magnificent summer transfer window where the club invested mightily in bringing in high-potential young talents in the Greek-born head coach’s squad, with Archie Grey, Wilson Odobert, and Lucas Bergvall leading the line of incomings. As Spurs continue to take strides in the aforementioned youngsters, they are already laying blueprints for the 2025 transfer intervals as they look to land another set of highly acclaimed young players in Brogan Popham and Harlan Perry.
Tottenham target young duo Popham and Perry
Brogan Popham and Harlan Perry have come through the ranks at Swansea City, with the former being seventeen (17) while the latter is sixteen (16). However, despite their tender age, it would be difficult for the North Londoners to land their services as the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal, and Manchester United have already expressed interest in landing the Swansea teenagers.
And John Wenham, owner of the reputable Spurs podcast Lilywhite Rose, expressed his thrill about Tottenham’s links with the duo, claiming that it would resolve the club’s “homegrown issues.”
-> Staveley’s takeover could lead to Ange Postecoglou departure at Tottenham
Speaking in an exclusive interview with Tottenham News, Wenham said:
“These are the exact type of signings we should make. We’ve seen it with some of the young players we’ve signed recently, such as George Feeney. We just need to be out there competing.
“Clubs are getting these players younger and younger nowadays. Therefore, with the homegrown issues impacting us, it is important to bring these players in at a young age. That allows us to then develop them in the way we want.”
As Wenham mentions, the Lilywhites recently brought George Feeney to the club, and they don’t want to stop there. Levy wants to influx as much talent into the academy that can reap dividends in the medium term as he looks to create a self-serving pipeline at Hotspur Way where the academy continually feeds the first team.
