Potential Tottenham investor spotted is North London as NFL comes to town

Tottenham Hotspur have recently been the subject of rumour mongering regarding a potential investment in the club from an external party. The person credited with interest is none other than Amanda Staveley.

The 51-year-old British businesswoman invested in Newcastle United in 2021 as well, some years after even being in negotiations to purchase a stake in Manchester City or Liverpool – though such talks never materialised in her favour. As far as her association with the Magpies goes, Staveley was a stakeholder at the club for three years before relinquishing ownership earlier this year.

That has not kept her and her husband out of the footballing picture for much longer and just three months after they gave up Newcastle United’s ownership, Staveley was spotted at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium watching the NFL to add further fuel to the fire.

Staveley being spotted at the club’s stadium is a definite sign of things heading in the right direction as from a logical standpoint, she would not have been pictured publicly at Tottenham’s venue were there not any interest in investing in the club, especially after the rumours.

Also the fact that the former Newcastle investor was spotted for an NFL match, a sport which she has previously had no involvement in, hints that something could be brewing behind the scenes.

One of Amanda Staveley’s early motives at Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly to replace Ange Postecoglou with Eddie Howe.

While a takeover would be welcome news for the Lilywhites, the one bad news that has emerged in its nascent stages is that Eddie Howe is being touted to replace Ange Postecoglou.

The Newcastle boss is reportedly wanted by Staveley personally in order to replace the Australian and should that occur, the possible new investor would directly enter the supporters’ bad books because to be honest, Big Ange has done nothing to be sacked and much to the contrary, he is getting the results Spurs desire.

A lot of legal formalities will need to be done for Tottenham’s takeover to be completed, however, and consequent to the huge amount of work that remains, it may not be until several more months until there is official news from either the potential ownership or the club regarding the same.
