Former Spurs scout suggests Tottenham target will leave his current employers

Fabrizio Romano issues update on Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in Eberechi Eze.

Tottenham Hotspur have been looking to bring in level-raising players in the middle of the park as Ange Postecoglou looks to blend creative talent with gritty presence in the middle of the park. And the Lilywhites identified Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze as an ideal player to slot into the Spurs midfield, and Daniel Levy did try to pursue a move for the England international without any conclusions.

And despite their failure to land the Eagles star in the past window, the North Londoners are expected to vie for his signatures yet again in 2025, and in what comes as a boost to the Lilywhites, former Spurs scout Mick Brown, in a conversation with Football Insider, suggests that the player is likely to bid adieu to his current employers.

Scout predicts Eze move for less than release clause

Crystal Palace could sell Eze for £50-60million

While Eze has a £68 million release clause in his current deal at Selhurst Park, Brown suggests that the clause is highly unlikely to come into play, with the 26-year-old expected to be priced away for anything that is unlikely to be upwards of £60 million.

The Arsenal academy reject has had interests from multiple English heavyweights, including the Gunners, Manchester City, Manchester United, and Liverpool. However, Mick suggests that there are still doubts about his guaranteed ability to make a difference wherever he moves.

Football Insider in another report suggests that an offer worth £50m-£60m should be enough for Palace to consider selling the 26-year-old, which looks like a bargain if he can replicate his potential at Palace.
